The Silver Thread Trio (l to r): Gabrielle Pietrangelo, Caroline Isaacs, and Laura Kepner-Adney

In a very short span of time, the members of The Silver Thread Trio have made a big name for themselves as performers of their own unique style of folk-influenced, grassroots music.

The Silver Thread Trio (l to r): Gabrielle Pietrangelo, Caroline Isaacs, and Laura Kepner-Adney

Although all three members, Caroline Isaacs, Gabrielle Pietrangelo, and Laura Kepner-Adney write their own songs, they are unafraid to draw music and inspiration from the creative river of folk, blues, and even classical music that has come before them.

The band is currently celebrating the release of their second album, called Trigger & Scythe, the creation of which was made possible thanks to the support their fans showed them via the website KickStart.

Mark McLemore asked two members of The Silver Thread Trio, Gabrielle and Caroline, to join him in the studio to talk about the new album. He started the interview by asking them if any specific images came to mind when people refer to their art as "Americana"...

As a fiber artist and jewelry designer I have followed Laura, Gabrielle (my niece!) and Caroline from the early days to now. They have traveled the road from seeds to pearls and soon to be diamonds....I have NO doubt. I listen to this C.D. to get my days started. In spite of sad, tragic themes...these three women infuse LIFE and Harmony into a world negotiating speed bumps. Proud Aunt, Virginia Mann.
