UA Basketball Team Gets Ready November 4, 2009 | AZPM

The University of Arizona men's basketball team officially begins its new season November 15 against Northern Arizona University. This season marks the beginning of a new era in Wildcat basketball, with new head coach Sean Miller and a five-member freshman class. Miller says the freshmen have a lot to learn.

“They’re a group that I’m very excited about and optimistic about,” he says. “I think it’s a great starting point for us to build behind. They will certainly contribute a lot to this year’s team.”

With the new players comes a bit of caution. Miller says there is a learning curve. “I think we all have to proceed with caution and just see how each one of them develops. Some of the best players that I’ve ever coached, the light bulb didn’t go on until their sophomore or junior year,” says Miller.
