Linda Blake, a language arts teacher at Magee Middle School, has wandered the globe but she travels with quite an entourage.

While working with EF Educational Tours, Mrs. Blake has coordinated study abroad trips for about 800 students and fellow teachers.

Travel was always something very important to Mrs. Blake's family and recognized what a great opportunity for growth and learning it could be for her students.

"I can't go anywhere, whether it's to a restaurant or a grocery store, where I don't run in to either a parent of a student I've taken or a student, him or herself. And we always talk about the trips and about how wonderful they were and how they impacted the students later on when they returned home," said Blake.

Her motivation lies in the belief that to truly learn about the world; you must experience it for yourself.

"It's wonderful to travel with people who really have a feel for where they fit in the world. We have so much more in common with other people in the world than we have differences. And that's really wonderful," said Blake.

On this week's Teacher's Voices listen to Linda Blake speak with Doug Simmons, regional manager for the state of Arizona for EF Educational Tours, about the impact of a globalized classroom.
