Sotomayor hearings on PBS-World

Arizona Public Media will offer live television coverage of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor on the new channel, PBS World, and will offer live video streaming of the national event online at the AZPM.org website.

A live, unanchored audio feed of the hearings will also be available on the Radio page of the AZPM.org website. On KUAZ-FM 89.1 and 1550 AM, wrap-up specials are scheduled at 6 p.m. for each evening of the hearings and special coverage from NPR’s “Talk of the Nation” radio program is scheduled at 12 p.m. noon, Tuesday and Thursday.

Televised, “gavel-to-gavel” live anchor coverage of the confirmation hearings will be broadcast in Southern Arizona on PBS World, the new 24-hour PBS channel from Arizona Public Media. PBS World is broadcast on digital channel 27-3 and is available in the Tucson area on major cable providers Cox (channel 83) and Comcast (channel 203). The confirmation hearings will also be available as a live video stream from the Live Events section of the AZPM.org website.

PBS World offers quality PBS programming 24-hours-a-day and is part of the Arizona Public Media lineup of television program services. PBS World serves as host for a growing number of exclusive documentary programs, including critically acclaimed series like American Experience, Frontline, History Detectives, Nature, The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, NOVA, Scientific American Frontiers and Foreign Exchange with Daljit Dhaliwal. PBS World also showcases the best of locally-produced programming such as Arizona Illustrated and The Desert Speaks.
