Maricopa County has announced a recount of the Congressional District 4 Democratic election.

Maricopa County Recorder Helen Purcell ordered the recount Monday and scheduled it for Wednesday at the Maricopa County Tabulation and Elections Center.

In the Democratic race, Johnnie Robinson got 10,185 votes in the unofficial final count, and Mikel Weisser got 10,166.

The district run from Yuma on the south, along the Colorado River, to the Utah line on the north and pushes into central Arizona, including Maricopa and Pinal counties, where it wraps around the Phoenix metro area.

The Democratic winner will face Paul Gosar, who is an incumbent Republican congressman who moved into CD4 from his eastern Arizona district after new maps were adopted this year.
