A day after Democrat U.S. Rep. Ron Barber debuted his first TV ad in the CD2 general election race, his opponent Republican Martha McSally joined him on the airwaves with her first ad in the race.

McSally's ad includes images of her hiking and speaking to a group of people. She says Southern Arizonans have a "pioneering spirit."

Just as she did in her previous campaign for CD8 earlier this year, McSally is highlighting her experience as an Air Force colonel, including that she is the first female combat fighter pilot.

Barber's first ad focused on the work he did while a congressional aide in Southern Arizona.

The two are competing for a full two-year term in office in CD2.
