The Humanities Seminars Program was established in 1984 as a way to enrich the University of Arizona community, and to invite prospective learners who may feel past their college years to return to the classroom.
The approach differs from standard coursework in that the classes are lecture- and reading-based, taught by both current and former University of Arizona professors.
The seminar setting gives students the opportunity to converse and question educators closely about their fields of study.
The program also advocates learning for the simple joy of the experience, without tests or term papers.
Most of the 4- to 10-week classes being offered in the fall of 2012 are still accepting students through online registration. A complete list of the courses being offered and their instructors is also available.
