Gov. Jan Brewer plans to attend a U.S.-Mexico border state governors meeting for the first time.

Brewer's office says she will attend the 30th such conference to be held Oct. 4-5 in Albuquerque.

Brewer canceled going to a border governors' conference in Mexico a year ago.

One she had planned to host in 2010 was scrapped because Mexican governors wouldn't attend after Arizona approved SB 1070, a strict law against illegal immigration.
