GREAT PERFORMANCES Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic: The Inaugural Concert

Great performances joins the opening night festivities as Gustavo Dudamel begins his tenure as music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Wednesday, October 21st at 8 p.m. on PBS-HD.

Hailed as one of the most exciting and compelling conductors of our time, Gustavo Dudamel begins his tenure as music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. In 2005 Dudamel made his U.S. conducting debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, widely regarded as one of the most contemporary and innovative orchestras in America. In April 2007, during a guest conducting engagement with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Dudamel was named the LA Phil’s next Music Director as of the 2009-2010 season, succeeding Esa-Pekka Salonen.
