AZ Voter Registration Numbers Climb

3.1M residents eligible to cast ballots in this fall's election

Arizona voter registration hit 3.12 million for this fall's general election, an increase of 24,000 since the primary election in August, the Secretary of State's office announced Wednesday.

Republicans continue to have a plurality of 1.1 million registered voters, or 35.9 percent. Democrats have 952,000 registered, or 30.5 percent, and other parties total about 27,000, or less than 1 percent.

For the first time in more than two decades, voters registering with no party or as "independents" declined in the state, to 1.02 million, or 32.8 percent, the secretary of state reported.
