If you feel like this election cycle has been dragging on for years, it could be because it's true: versions of the different campaigns have been up and running since the state caucuses in 2010 and since then, voters have been bombarded with advertisements, debates and speeches.

Now, in the waning hours before the election, local Democrats and Republicans say they won't let up on their efforts to win as many elections as possible.

Both parties plan to continue knocking on doors, making telephone calls, offering rides to the polls, and engaging people personally and through social media.

Whether it's coffee and donuts, soda and pizza or something from a different menu, they say the recipe for success is hard work, commitment and enthusiasm coupled with impressive participation numbers.
