ARIZONA ILLUSTRATED

Arizona Republican Senators John McCain and Jon Kyl will guest together for the first time on Arizona Illustrated Friday, February 19 at 6:30 p.m. on PBS-HD.

Senators John McCain and Jon Kyl are joining Arizona Illustrated host Bill Buckmaster for the "Friday Roundtable" segment of the program. Joining the two senators and host are Jim Nintzel of the Tucson Weekly and Linda Valdez of the Arizona Republic. Scheduled topics for discussion include jobs programs, health care reform, the "Don’t Ask Don’t Tell" military policy, the economy, the current state of bi-partisanship and the upcoming election cycle.

Senator McCain is the ranking member of the Senate Committee on Armed Services, and a member and former Chair of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs. McCain is also a current member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources; Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions; and the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. McCain is seeking a fifth term in the U.S. Senate this year.

Senator Kyl is the Senate Minority Whip and is the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Terrorism and Homeland Security. He also led the effort in the Senate in opposing the health care bill that eventually passed Christmas Eve 2009.
