Two of the artists who are bringing tango composer Astor Piazzolla's story and music to life onstage join AZ Illustrated Arts host Elizabeth Burden to discuss the world-premiere of Passionately, Piazzolla.

Actor Robert Beltran is playing the role of Astor Piazzolla. Beltran has made over 100 film and television appearances since his debut in director Luis Valdez's critically-acclaimed Zoot Suit in 1981.

Beltran also played the title role in Eating Raoul (1982), and the part of Hector, the much put-upon zombie holocaust survivor in the science fiction cult classic Night of the Comet (1984). Beltran is perhaps best known to worldwide audiences as Commander Chakotay from Star Trek Voyager (1995 - 2001).

A part of the 2013 inaugural Tucson Desert Song Festival, Passionately, Piazzolla is a collaboration between Ballet Tucson, Chamber Music PLUS and the Tucson Guitar Society.

Performances occur Friday, February 15th through Sunday, February 17th.

Passionately, Piazzolla also features vocalist and guitarist Brian Chambouleyron, an expert in the music of his adopted home country of Argentina. While visiting the AZ Illustrated studio, Chambouleyron demonstrated some of the unique qualities of composer Astor Pizazzolla's famed "nuevo tango" musical style.
