Born and raised in Tokyo, Keitaro Harada has grown Arizona roots through his involvement with some of the state's top classical music organizations.
Harada also is recognized around the world for his conducting skill.
In 2009, when studying music at the University of Arizona, Harada was invited to guest conduct by the Sierra Vista Symphony Orchestra. Now each year, he returns to Sierra Vista for a concert as the orchestra's principal guest conductor.
In March, he fulfilled a personal goal by teaming with his friend, pianist Erika Tazawa, for their first joint professional appearance.
The concert in Sierra Vista gave Harada another opportunity to share his enthusiasm and love for music with musicians and audience alike.
