The mission of Odyssey Storytelling is to create community, one story at a time. Founded in 2004 by Penelope Starr, Odyssey Storytelling uses personal storytelling to preserve history, enhance connections between groups, dispel prejudice, encourage collaboration and build community.
Odyssey produces monthly storytelling performances which feature six storytellers from the Tucson community (and beyond) telling 10 minute personal stories based on a theme. Shows are on the first Thursday of every month, and are held at Fluxx Studio and Gallery.
About Odyssey Storyteller Jerry Diaz: Jerry Diaz has been living in the Old Pueblo since 1989, when he arrived with dreams of being a famous chef long before all those cooking shows.
His life took a turn when he got involved with a small agency helping folks who were suffering from AIDS. He can be seen on most media formats, fighting for the rights of those who do not have a voice, or working tirelessly for the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation.
Jerry is also a musician, playing with his band The Shameless Flirts.
