With a program including everything from musicals and comedies to biographies and documentaries about social justice, The 22nd Annual Arizona International Film Festival is hoping to bring a diversity to the Tucson community that mirrors the explosion in film making occurring worldwide.

Filmmaker Gauri Chadha is writer, director and producer of Gawah ("Witness"), which will be screened Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Crossroads 6 Theater in Tucson.

Chadha says Gawah looks closely at the results of acts of mass violence, using eyewitness accounts and the testimony of survivors. The events portrayed include the violence which arose following India's 1947 Partition, and both the 2008 and 2011 attacks in Mumbai.
