Bill Moyers Journal Final Broadcast

PBS's acclaimed public affairs series Bill Moyers Journal will end its three year run with a special presentation. Friday, April 30 at 9 p.m. on PBS-HD.

In the final Journal, Bill Moyers reports from Iowa on a resurgence of the populist spirit, pays tribute to the late Granny D. and her campaign for clean money in politics, interviews the writer and philosopher Barry Lopez, and bids farewell to his audience.

For die-hard fans, Bill will continue his website.

Beginning May 7 PBS-HD Channel 6 will offer NEED TO KNOW, an integrated broadcast and online current affairs project from PBS uniting broadcast and web in an innovative approach to newsgathering and reporting.

NEED TO KNOW promises to be a dynamic source of current affairs coverage for today’s media consumers, co-anchored by Peabody Award-winning broadcast journalist Alison Stewart and Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer and Newsweek editor Jon Meacham. The new weekly primetime news and public affairs series debuts nationally on Friday, May 7 at 8:30 p.m. Shelley Lewis, formerly of CNN and ABC News, is the executive producer, and viewers can access the program’s website at www.pbs.org/needtoknow.
