Arizona’s unemployment rate held at 7.9 percent in April for the third straight month.
This time last year, the jobless rate was 8.4 percent.
The Department of Administration’s economists reported Thursday that the state added 16,600 non-farm jobs last month.
The slight uptick came across all major private industry sectors.
Leisure and hospitality once again tops growth with 7,100 new jobs.
Maricopa County faired the best with only 6.6 percent unemployment. Yuma County had the highest rate at 26%.
Pima County came in at 6.7 percent.
Arizona has now posted 20 straight months of job growth, but growth has slowed in 2013.
