LA Opera on Air broadcasts continue on Classical 90.5 at noon this Saturday, August 10th, with a performance of The Flying Dutchman. The opera's score and its libretto were composed by Richard Wagner. The performance will run approximately two hours and thirty minutes.

The legend of the ghostly ship condemned to wander the oceans forever has fascinated opera lovers - and more recently, movie lovers - for hundreds of years. An enthralling score, illuminated for the live audience by striking stage imagery, powers a thrilling journey into an unsettling, mythic world where a tormented spirit seeks true love as his redemption.

James Conlon, one of today's foremost Wagner interpreters, leads the world-class cast in the new to Los Angeles production.
