This year's season of LA Opera on Air broadcasts concludes on Classical 90.5 at noon this Saturday, August 24th, with a performance of Tosca by Giacomo Puccini, with an Italian libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa. The broadcast will run approximately three hours.

A fiery prima donna is forced to play a role she never imagined when she becomes trapped between her allegiance to her rebel lover and the scheming of a treacherous police chief who will stop at nothing in his lust for her. The explosive triangle comes to a hair-raising conclusion.

One of opera's bloodiest, most intense dramas, Tosca is also one of the most popular works in the repertoire and features some of Puccini's most openly beautiful and passionate music. Plácido Domingo conducts.
