Tucson gasoline prices rose 1.6 cents a gallon in the last week, GasBuddy.com, a web site that keeps track of national gasoline prices reported.

It surveyed 328 outlets in Tucson, and found that the city's average retail price was $3.26 a gallon on Monday.

This is quiet different from the national average price, which has fallen 3.8 cents per gallon, to $3.57, GasBuddy.com reported.

"Gasoline prices are certainly a bit wacky right now across the country, with prices moving in different directions," said Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst of GasBuddy.com, which oversees gas prices at about 140,000 gas stations in the U.S. and Canada. His comments came in a press release.

As of Sunday, Tucson average prices were 14.9 cents per gallon lower than one year ago, but 6.6 cents higher than last month.

"Relief continues to show up at pumps in the Great Lakes, while the opposite trend has started in California," said DeHaan. "I'm hopeful that most areas in the United Sates will see new or continued relief for at least the first half of this week, with some areas seeing a continued drop for most of this week."
