MINING IN THE US: Arizona has a major mining industry. But, whenever an individual or agency proposes any action to mine, the U.S. Forest Services must consider environmental effects and consequences to the environment prior to granting permission.

QUEEN OF THE NIGHT: The famous "Queen of the Night," or night-blooming cereus cactus, tends to bloom only two nights a year. Tohono Chul Park is home to the world's largest collection of the cactus, attracting loads of visitors hoping to witness the anticipated blooms.
