A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the spray painting of graffiti on saguaro cactuses and boulders at Saguaro National Park East in Tucson.
Tucson police said they arrested the teenager Monday, and he was being held on two counts of felony vandalism. They said he also is suspected in at least 140 incidents of graffiti throughout Tucson.
The suspect's name was not released.
Saguaro Park officials said after the graffiti was discovered on numerous cactuses in the park that they did not know how they would be able to remove the paint marks without harming the saguaros.
