The Pima County Board of Supervisors voted 3-2 Monday to increase the county property tax rate by about 28 cents.

Property owners will now pay about $5.13 on every $100 of assessed value on their properties. That means if a home is valued at $100,000, the owner would have to pay about $513 under the new tax rate.

Other entities, such as school districts, also assess property tax which are added to what the county charges. The Pima County Treasurer’s Office anticipated property tax bills will be sent out the first week of September.

The first half of tax payments are due Oct. 1.
