Another Republican Announces Candidacy for CD2 2014 Race

Ed Martin, talk-radio host, joins Martha McSally in GOP nominations for Congressional District 2's primary elections next year.

A second Republican is now in the race for the congressional seat representing southern Arizona now held by Democrat U.S. Rep. Ron Barber.

Ed Martin announced his candidacy for the 2nd Congressional District seat on Friday. He joins Martha McSally in the race for the GOP nomination in next year's primary election.

Martin is a talk-radio host who has lived in Arizona for 10 years.

He said McSally has the support of the GOP establishment and he's starting as an underdog in the race.

Barber beat McSally in the November 2010 race. He first won the seat held by his former boss Gabrielle Giffords in a special election after she resigned in January 2012 because of injuries she received in a mass shooting at a political event in Tucson.
