Pima was put on two years' probation in April by the Higher Learning Commission, which accredits it and other institutions. The organization cited financial issues, lack of administrative and Board of Governors' attentiveness to problems, including sexual harassment complaints against a former chancellor, and other issues.

Pima retains its accreditation during the process, which includes self-review and assessment by 14 committees. The public forums are part of the reporting process.

The Higher Learning Commission will visit Tucson in one year and make a decision on Pima's probation and accreditation in February 2015.
