It was a little over a year ago that economic development in southern Arizona came under the arm of a new organization called TREO. One of its first big announcements was the arrival of Pela Windows.

Now TREO (Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities) is spending nearly $300,000 with a Cincinatti-based consultant to help design an economic blueprint for southern Arizona.

In the coming year, TREO officials say they are going to continue to look aggressively at bringing more companies to Tucson, but also explore regional opportunities.

Christopher Conover reports.
