The battle over how much the state’s largest utility company will pay residential solar power producers is going to the airwaves.

Two advocacy groups, 60 Plus Association and Prosper HQ have begun airing ads on Phoenix TV stations in favor of a change to solar rates.

But it’s not just one side of the net metering debate that’s taking it to the small screen.

Another group called Utilities Solar won’t be Killed is airing an ad that lobbies for rates to stay the same.

Former California Republican U.S. Rep. Barry Goldwater Jr. heads that group.

The Arizona Corporation Commission is expected to make a decision on the proposed change in November.
