Matinee broadcasts by the Metropolitan Opera continue on Classical 90.5 at 11:00 a.m. this Saturday, January 11th, with a performance of Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss, Jr. The performance will run approximately three hours and forty minutes.

Die Fledermaus tells the tale of a silly prank, the victim's revenge and concealed identities that come to life. Jeremy Sams, who devised, wrote and directed The Enchanted Island, which will be reprised by the Met later this spring and will be broadcast on Classical 90.5 on March 8th, returns to the Met to direct his new English-language production of Strauss's beloved operetta with a revised libretto by acclaimed playwright Douglas Cater Beane. Adam Fischer conducts.
