Matinee broadcasts from the Metropolitan Opera continue on Classical 90.5 at 10:00 a.m. this Saturday, March 29th, with a performance of La Sonnambula by Vincenzo Bellini, set to to an Italian libretto by Felice Romani, based on a scenario for a ballet-pantomime by Eugène Scribe and Jean-Pierre Aumer called La somnambule, ou L'arrivée d'un nouveau seigneur. The performance will run approximately two hours and fifty-five minutes.

Soprano Diana Damrau takes on her first Bellini heroine at the Met in Bellini's love story about Amina, a sleepwalking girl. Bel canto specialist Javier Camarena is her jealous lover, Elvino, and Michele Pertusi sings the of Elvino's rival, Count Rodolfo. Marco Armiliato conducts.
