Arizona’s bankruptcy filings continue to drop.
A recent report form the U.S. Federal Courts system shows bankruptcy filings in Arizona dropped to 23,381 in 2013, an 18 percent decrease from 2012.
The reduction in filings in Arizona is slightly better than the national average of around 14 percent.
The report showed that the number of businesses filling for bankruptcy went down by 30 percent to 867.
Non-business bankruptcy filings decreased by 22 percent at about 22,514.
In Pima County, there were a total of 2,869 filings, with 100 business filings and 2,769 of those being personal.
Nationally, there were 1,071,932 bankruptcy filings.
