Noted astronomer Roger Angel is proposing a bold plan to install a solar sun shade made of trillions of lightweight flyers that would be sent to orbit between the earth and the sun. The objects would deflect some sunlight and cool the earth in case of a global warming emergency. Angel also demonstrates an early prototype electromagnetic "launcher" that would be used to send the solar shield to space.
