The final rounds of La Fiesta de Los Vaqueros are this weekend at the Tucson Rodeo Grounds. But there is another aspect to the annual celebration of the West, one that includes Western and Southwestern art from perspective of musicians and other artists.

The Rodeo Days Arts Celebration is on its fourth year, and it brings more than 40 artists - from fine art to metal, glass, ceramic work to jewelry and garden art - and musicians to showcase their work and highlight the artistic rodeo history of the West.

Founder Susan French said she was looking for "Southwest artists creating in the Southwest, so there is a lot of Southwestern theme art, but there also artists (who are creating here)."

"I want people to experience all of the diverse talents, and experience the culture of Tucson in one place," she said.

This year, Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild and former Mayor Bob Walkup will attend, alongside acclaimed local cartoonist and comedian David Fitzsimmons.

The fourth annual Rodeo Days Arts Celebration takes place Sunday, Feb. 23 at Plaza Palomino, 2960 N. Swan Rd., from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is free. For more information call 907-7325.
