The University of Arizona will no longer hold graduation ceremonies in December, said a press release from the UA.
The university will have one annual commencement ceremony at the end of each spring semester, which happens in May. Students who are set to graduate in December may now choose to walk then, the press release said.
"We're working hard to recognize the most significant moment in every student's college career," said Kasey Urquidez, UA associate vice president and dead of admissions, in the press release. "Graduating from the UA deserves a memorable send-off and now every student who graduates will have the opportunity to walk as one and to share the same experience."
The UA will hold its 150th commencement May 17 at the Arizona Stadium.
