Davis-Monthan Air Force Base and military retirees circulated about $1.47 billion and helped create more than 4,400 jobs in the region, according to a press release from Davis-Monthan.
The figures were published in the military base's fiscal year 2013 Economic Impact Analysis, which was released Thursday.
The analysis said there were 10,410 personnel assigned and employed at Davis-Monthan, including 7,526 military service members, 1,407 appropriated fund civilians and 1,477 non-appropriated fund civilians and contractors, according to the press release.
It was also reported that Davis-Monthan operates and maintains 476 buildings and thousands of acres of government-owned land.
The EIA is an annual publication, and it is designed to inform people about the base's expenditures, employed personnel, jobs created and the overall influence of Davis-Monthan in the community.
