ACT: Animal Task Force of Southern Arizona was established in 2000 and combines people from several agencies and volunteers to combat animal neglect, abuse and other concerns in S. Arizona. The group deals with more than 1500 cases annually and tries to find homes for the animals that have suffered. They spend much of their time conducting outreach and education, trying to prevent the problems in the first place.
