Top officials from the American Legion are in Phoenix to discuss lapses in care at veteran hospitals.

The Tuesday evening town hall event will feature the American Legion's national commander Daniel M. Dellinger along with other officials from the organization.

The Department of Veterans Affairs is under fire over allegations that Phoenix administrators kept a secret list to conceal lengthy wait times at their locations. Critics say 40 veterans died while waiting for care.

A Senate hearing is scheduled for Thursday in Washington on the issue, and VA Secretary Eric Shinseki is to appear.
