The Pima Association of Governments has approved its five-year plan.

The Association of Govermnets' Regional Council is planning major projects, which include work on interchanges along Interstate 10 at Ina Road, Ruthrauff Road and Houghton Road and Interstate 19 at Ajo Way.

The plan also calls for further development of roadways near Raytheon Missile Systems' plant in Tucson's South Side.

PAG often acts as coordinator when it comes to larger scale roadwork plans in the area.

“Essentially we’re a planning agency," said Regional Transportation Authority and PAG Executive Director Farhad Moghimi. "Our responsibility is to work with all the member agencies, and that consists of Arizona Department of Transportation as well as all the cities and towns and tribal members within Pima County.”

The association’s transportation improvement program has a budget of $1.18 billion for the next five years, and is tied to RTA's plan, which runs through 2026 and has a budget of $2 billion.
