“Big Country” lives up to its name, set in the Wild West with familiar scenes of vast, dusty spaces, canyons, rolling country and lots of sky. It is the story of James McCay (Gregory Peck) newly arrived from the east, in very non-cowboy clothing, to marry Patricia Terrill (Carroll Baker). Complications ensue in the form of family feuds, love triangles, masculine rites of passage, and values conflict.

Hollywood at Home presents The Big Country, Saturday at 9 p.m. on PBS 6.
