The Pima Animal Care Center is hosting a Dog Walk and Cat Cuddle in honor of the Fourth of July.
Karen Hollish, PACC's development director, said her organization hosts these events on most major holidays.
“It’s something really cool we do. It’s a chance for community members to come out and meet the hundreds of pets that the Pima Animal Care Center are caring for," she said.
Typically, about 200 people attend the dog walk and cat cuddle events.
However, the center won’t be processing adoptions that day.
“But we’re doing free reservations for adoptions," Hollish said. "So if you come out and you and your family meet a dog, cat, puppy, kitten, who you fall in love with, we will let you reserve that pet and let you come and pick him or her up on Saturday.”
The Pima Animal Care Center will also be recruiting volunteers Friday. It will hold an informational session immediately after the event.
Currently, about 700 animals are housed in the Pima Animal Care Center.
PACC's Dog Walk and Cat Cuddle will take place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at 400 N. Silverbell Road.
Last day to RSVP is today. For more information call the shelter at 243-5900.
