The monthly report from the Joint Legislative Budget Committee says tax collections for last month continued the trend of “disappointing results.”

Collections for June were $56 million below what budget writers were projecting for the last month of the fiscal year. The JLBC said, if lower tax collections continue, it projects a $113 million shortfall for fiscal 2015.

The budget projections put together by the JLBC staff do not take into account a judge’s ruling that the state owes public schools more than $300 million for inflation adjustments that were not paid.

Gov. Jan Brewer is appealing that decision.
