Project PPEP (Portable Practical Education Preparation) is celebrating 40 years in Arizona. When the group began in Tucson in 1967, it used a bus to reach migrant workers (braseros) in rural communities, providing education in subjects like reading, writing, and even driving classes for women.

The group now has 12 charter schools in Arizona and, among other things, offers services in affordable housing assistance, job training and adult literacy programs.
