Tucson City Manager Mike Hein talks about the tough financial times facing the city. What programs may have to be eliminated? Hein answers that question and more in a talk with host Bill Buckmaster.

The Tucson City Council recently approved $31 million in budget cuts in an attempt to balance the municipal budget. The city's plans for savings include raising parks and recreation fees, cutting service at the Tucson Convention Center and eliminating two new police training academies. In addition, $3 million will be cut from SunTran, without hikes in bus fares.

The majority of the cuts and revenue increases are expected to last at least through 2009.
