America’s national Independence Day celebration will mark 35 spectacular years on air, live from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. Saturday at 5 p.m. on PBS 6.

Celebrating 35 spectacular years on air, A Capitol Fourth (2015) will kick off the country’s 239th birthday with an all-star musical extravaganza that puts viewers front and center for the greatest display of fireworks anywhere in the nation. America’s favorite Independence Day celebration is broadcast live from the West Lawn of the United States Capitol, before a concert audience of hundreds of thousands, millions more at home, as well as to our troops serving around the world on the American Forces Network.

Music legend Barry Manilow will headline the gala anniversary celebration, opening and closing the concert broadcast with a special patriotic medley. The star spangled party will also feature performances by the country music group, Alabama; Grammy nominated singer/songwriter, Nicole Scherzinger; multi-instrumentalist Hunter Hayes; vocal powerhouse Meghan Linsey, Grammy award-winning band, KC and the Sunshine Band; piano virtuoso Lang Lang; and Irish tenor Ronan Tynan, with the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of top pops conductor Jack Everly.

The 35th annual broadcast of A Capitol Fourth(2015) airs on PBS Saturday, July 4, 2015, at 5 p.m.
