The Legend of La Llorona

In this part of the Southwest, no observance of El Dia de los Muertos or Halloween would be complete without invoking the spirit of La Llorona, "The Weeping Woman". Many versions of the story appear in Mexican folklore, and producer Nancy Montoya grew up hearing one that is often told to children in the Arizona mining communities of Clifton and Morenci, and she discusses the legend with Anna Ochoa O'Leary, the director of Mexican American studies at the University of Arizona...
