Solar House Update

Christopher Conover looks at the University of Arizona's entry in an international contest to design the future of solar housing.

Plenty of people are thinking about putting solar cells on the roofs of their homes to take care of some of their electrical needs, but at the University of Arizona, a group of students is taking that one step further.

The students from the UA School of Architecture are spending their summer building a fully solar powered home. The students building "Seed Pod" are competing against students from nearly two dozen other colleges and universities from around the world in the Solar Decathlon.
