People in need of a hot meal, or looking to volunteer during the Thanksgiving week can join the Gospel Rescue Mission for its, 27th Thanksgiving Street Banquet on Wednesday.

The Mission’s organizer for the event, Suzanne Williams said all are welcome.

“We will be having a traditional Thanksgiving meal from 11 to 2,” Williams said. “We have about 350 volunteers that help serve meals so it is just a real great partnership with the community.”

The event will take place in front of the Men’s Shelter on West 28th Street. The Mission will also shelter those with no place to stay.

“We feed close to 3,000 meals which will be a super opportunity for people to get to know the mission,” Williams said. “If people need a place to stay that night we will have the men and women’s shelter open for anyone who needs a place to sleep.”

Williams said that anyone looking to volunteer should come down to the event and help in any way they can, but Williams said the best way to help is to donate a turkey for the event.
