Biosphere 2

Christopher Conover tells us about some new science that's being done at Biosphere 2, including a large-scale, 10-year experiment studying the consequences of global climate change.

In the early 1990's a group of men and women moved into Biosphere 2 in Oracle, AZ. They were part of an experiment to see if people could live in self-sustained, closed environment.

That experiment is long over, but the facility still exists and now Biosphere 2 is taking on a new life. The University of Arizona, which runs the Biosphere 2, is turning the five-biome facility into a huge climate change research lab.
