Pima County Supervisor Sharon Bronson says the county will take over the ownership and operation of the Catalina State Park if the state decides to close the park because of budget cutting. Bronson says the park was originally owned by Pima County.

Bronson, a Democrat representing District 3 says assuming the passage of Prop 100, the Pima County primary tax rate will decline with no layoffs or furloughs anticipated. However, Bronson says if Prop 100 fails on May 18th, the financial picture is much bleaker.
