Rick Myers (left) is the newest member of the Arizona Board of Regents. Last January, he was appointed to replace Fred Boice (right), who served an eight year term beginning in January 2002.

The sales tax increase recently passed by Arizona voters may help with Arizona's education funding woes, but creating a long-term solution should be a top priority for state lawmakers. The Arizona Board of Regents' purpose is to oversee the functioning of Arizona's three universities.
